Do I need a referral from a doctor to attend The Physio Group?

No, attending The Physio Group can be done on a self referral basis although we do have GP’s and consultants who refer to us.

What do I need to bring to my first physiotherapy appointment?

If you have a leg or back injury please bring a pair of shorts. Females with neck or shoulder injuries should bring a vest top. If the injury is related to running bring your normal trainers for running as you may be assessed on a treadmill.

What will my first physiotherapy appointment include?

Your initial assessment will involve a thorough history taking of your injury, previous injuries and full medical background. A thorough assessment of your posture, injured area and related areas should then allow accurate diagnosis to be made. We will then discuss an appropriate plan for your condition and treatment will be administered.

Do I need to bring someone with me?

For clients aged under 16 we require an adult to attend with them at all sessions. If over 16 and you feel more comfortable attending with a family member or friend, please feel free to do so.
