Jo Montgomery qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in June 2003 from the University of Ulster. She has also completed a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy through Cardiff University in 2011. After 5 years working in the NHS, she moved full time into high performance sport, working with Men’s XVs Pro side Edinburgh Rugby as Elite Development Physiotherapist for 3 seasons, before moving to the English Institute of Sport in Manchester working with British Taekwondo and England squash as team leads and individual athletes across Olympic and Commonwealth sports.
Over the last 8 years she was employed with the Irish Rugby Football Union as Co-ordinator and Head Physio for Women’s rugby, specialising Women’s 7s over the 7 seasons competing on the World Series, European Championship and World Cup events.
Jo is a passionate and experienced physiotherapist with more than 15 years of working in high performance across a spectrum of sports, working with athletes and professional sports teams through their competitive journey. She has a special interest in the female athlete and the comprehensive needs of this athlete population, working with the younger athlete on the development pathway through to the competitive needs of high performance.
