Disc Injury
A spinal disc injury occurs when one of the cushioning discs between the vertebrae becomes irritated or injured, often leading to back pain, stiffness, or nerve-related symptoms. At The Physio Group, we specialise in the assessment and rehabilitation of disc-related spinal conditions.
Disc injuries can occur following lifting, twisting movements, sport, or prolonged sitting, although they may also develop gradually. Symptoms may include local back or neck pain, reduced movement, or pain travelling into the arm or leg if nearby nerves become irritated.
Our physiotherapists provide a detailed assessment to determine the severity and stage of the injury. Most disc problems respond very well to conservative physiotherapy treatment without the need for invasive procedures.
Treatment may include hands-on therapy, guided mobility exercises, progressive strengthening, and education to help patients move safely and confidently during recovery.
Following our Reduce, Restore, Return pathway, we aim to calm symptoms, rebuild spinal support and control, and help you return to normal activity with improved resilience.
