Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel and foot pain, often felt as sharp discomfort under the heel during the first steps in the morning or after periods of rest. The condition occurs when the plantar fascia becomes irritated due to overload or changes in activity levels.

At The Physio Group, we provide specialist physiotherapy treatment for plantar heel pain across all clinic locations. Contributing factors may include prolonged standing, running, footwear changes, reduced calf flexibility, or altered foot biomechanics.

A detailed assessment allows our physiotherapists to identify the underlying cause rather than simply treating symptoms. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises, load management advice, and guidance on footwear or orthotic support where appropriate.

Following our Reduce, Restore, Return approach, treatment focuses on reducing pain, restoring normal foot function, and helping you return comfortably to walking, work, and sport.
