Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)

Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) refers to pain and irritation affecting muscles, tendons, or nerves caused by repeated movements or prolonged tasks. It commonly affects the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands, particularly in office-based or manual roles.

Symptoms may include aching, stiffness, weakness, tingling, or discomfort during typing, lifting, or repetitive activity. At The Physio Group, we focus on identifying the underlying cause rather than simply treating symptoms.

Assessment includes evaluating movement patterns, workload demands, and muscle strength to understand why tissues have become overloaded. Treatment may involve hands-on therapy, progressive strengthening, mobility work, and advice on load management and task modification.

Following our Reduce, Restore, Return model, rehabilitation aims to settle irritation, restore normal function, and allow a safe return to work activities while reducing the risk of recurring symptoms.
