Kieran Murray

Kieran qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2000 from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown. Following graduation, he moved to the North East of England where he worked with private musculoskeletal physiotherapy company CONNECT PHC, delivering physiotherapy and ergonomic services to major organisations including Nike and Caterpillar.

Originally from outside Belfast, Kieran returned home to establish The Physio Group, growing it into a leading musculoskeletal and sports injury clinic serving the local community and surrounding areas.

He has extensive experience in elite sport, having worked as Head Physiotherapist with Rugby League club Gateshead Thunder and as physiotherapist to the All-Ireland winning Down Minor Football team in 2005. He has since remained closely involved in inter-county Gaelic football, working with both Down and Antrim squads.

Kieran has also supported performers within Northern Ireland’s film industry, providing physiotherapy care for actors from Game of Thrones alongside internationally recognised stunt performers working on major productions.

A clinical specialist in Manual Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Kieran has completed extensive postgraduate training in joint and soft tissue mobilisation and rehabilitation. He has a particular interest in treating sporting injuries in adolescents and young athletes, helping teenagers safely return to sport while reducing the risk of recurring injury. He is also trained in acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain relief and is a member of both the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (OCPPP).

Outside the clinic, Kieran is actively involved in coaching youth football locally, maintaining a strong connection with grassroots sport and athlete development within the Newry community.
